This shot was taken on the river Ant, where it is bisected by the old North walsham to Mundesley railway line. The course of the old track is now a public footpath as is used by many walkers to get from North Walsham to Pigneys wood.
The hoar frost has coated the riverside plant life in a silvery white shroud. The angle of the light has allowed a subtle, limited palette of colours to fill the foreground.
The river Ant at this point is really barely more than a stream, but if you are in the right place at the right time it can still be very pretty.
This image was shot on slide film and is available as a hand printed cibachrome print.
Available as a 16 x 12 inch Print
