A menacing sky hangs low over the North Norfolk coastal village of Blakeney, as the wind buffets the boats anchored in the Cut. It is easy to think of places like Blakeney as warm sunny places because many of us only visit them in the summer. The locals and a few hardy visitors will know that even during the worst weather the winter has to offer, places like Blakeney are still beautiful. This image was taken on my trusty old Olympus 35 mm and is available as a hand printed monochrome print.

We seem to have been struck by some nasty weather, high winds and driving rain. Also the dead sperm whale has been removed. The sudden boost in local trade will be missed I'm sure, but the whale had become a bit of a health hazard.
