The quiet little village of Brampton lies a couple of miles down stream of Aylsham in the Bure valley. Although in Roman times it was supposed to be a bustling settlement.It was mid afternoon when the mist fron the night before lifted enough to light the Bure's flood plain.Brampton church stands behind frosty land that provides grazing  on the banks of the river.
